In the search for better performance or
cleaner materials and processes all too often a technology
is adopted because someone happened to hear about it and
became enamored of it, or developed it and had too much time
and money sunk into it to admit that it really was not all
that great. The result is that our depots and our
warfighters end up with something that does not really meet
their needs, or the technology is developed, but languishes
and finally disappears because it never really answered the
need it was supposed to meet.
In the course of our extensive DoD work
evaluating and helping to implement better coatings and
materials technologies we have developed a suite of tools
for analyzing technologies, determining their level of
readiness, quantifying costs, benefits and risks, working
out which technologies make the most sense for a particular
application, and Roadmapping how to fill the needs of
complex weapons systems. Having developed these tools and
used them ourselves we have now been able to make some of
them available on-line to the DoD community.
You can use your own logon to keep your data
confidential and you can store your results so that others
in your organization can also view them and modify them if
you want. If your work is classified we may be able to
provide you with your own copy of the software so that you
can use it in-house.
